What is it? A BioBlitz is a 24-hour event in which teams of volunteer scientists, families, students, teachers, and
other community member’s work together to find and identify as many species of plants, animals,
microbes, fungi, and other organisms as possible.
The Church Farm consists of 228 acres of diverse habitats. This should be a great exploration!
What is it for? A BioBlitz gets people
excited about science
through hands-on
experience. It helps people
to discover the diversity of
life that can be found in any
local neighborhood or park.
It fosters better
understanding of the
interdependence of all
forms of life, and how
preservation of such lands
ensures the survival of this
bio-diversity in the future.
How Can I take Part? Scientists/naturalists: Become part of the BioBlitz team during the 24 hour period gathering field data,
identifying species, interacting with the public.

Visitors:
Due to parking, sanitary, and other limitations, we can only have fifty people on site at any one time.
For this reason, it will be necessary to pre-register to visit the BioBlitz. The schedule of events can be
accessed by clicking here. Hosting the public is a primary goal of
BioBlitzes, and we hope you will be able to come.
