This illustrated guidebook, authored by Samuel Dodd, a charter member of the Trust, was written primarily to fill the need for a guide to the land owned by Joshua's Trust. The trustees wished to make it easier for the public to locate the most significant of these properties and to be informed of their interesting features and trails. This is in keeping with the Trust's public service mission.

To make the book more useful, it was decided to include the other important open space areas in the Windham region which are open to the public and which do not belong to the Trust. Some of these are state or town owned and some belong to other private conservation organizations. Areas in Eastford, Tolland, and Franklin, though not part of the Windham Planning Region, are also included.

Included in the book is a description of the property as well as detailed directions for getting to the trails. There are maps and photos as well.

The 4th edition went on sale September 24th, 2005, and can be purchased at any of the locations listed on this page, or at the Trust office on Route 32 in Mansfield.
